Last November I spent a couple of hours a day watching the world chess championship matches between Caruana and Carlsen. 12 classical rated games that all ended up as draws was the boring outcome around 2 weeks later and signaled the death of creativity in competitive games. On the other hand, AlphaZero’s groundbreaking strategies were game changing and forced me to start playing again intuitive rapid and blitz chess.
